Are information services taxable in Missouri?
No. Missouri does not tax information services or data processing, and its constitution bars adding new taxes on services that were untaxed as of 2015-01-01.
| Short answer | Not taxable |

| Authority | 12 CSR 10-109.050; Mo. Const. art. X § 26 |
| Last reviewed | 2026-09-30 |
Why
Information services and data processing are not enumerated taxable services in Missouri, and they transfer no tangible property.
Mo. Const. art. X § 26 freezes the service base as of 2015-01-01, so these services cannot be added to the sales tax by statute alone.
Business vs. consumer buyers
Because Missouri does not tax this category, buyer type does not change the answer.
Where the line is
- A 2026 ballot measure could authorize future base expansion. It has not been enacted.
